An East Clare house which is subject to a Supreme Court hearing later this month has been badly damaged by fire.Several units of the fire bridge attended the scene of the four bedroom home which was allocated to a traveller family in Killaloe-Ballina at around half one last night. Clare FM reports that they battled the blaze for a number of hours before bringing it under control shortly after three but remained at the scene until seven this morning.
Eyewitnesses say extensive damage was caused and the area has now been sealed off for a technical examination.
