The discovery of an underground water spring by a water diviner using a twisted metal coat hanger, has provided a much needed jobs boost to County Clare.
Clare Spring Water Ltd yesterday announced the creation of 20 jobs with the opening of their €4.2 million plant to bottle water from underground springs six kilometres from Lissycasey. The family-run business can produce 6,000 bottles of water per hour.
PJ Kelly (pictured left), a local Fianna Fáil councillor and water diviner, told the Irish Times that the spring was found “by accident”. “I was asked by local man Paul Connellan to help locate a water source for a house he was hoping to build,” the councillor said.
