The Armada Hotel in Spanish Point, County Clare, has been revealed as Irish Wedding Venue of the Year at the weddingsonline 2015 Awards Gala Dinner in Dublin.
The Clare hotel has been named ahead of dozens of other wedding venues from across Ireland as winner of the prestigious award, which was the subject of a vote involving more than 28,000 brides and grooms nationwide.
The Armada Hotel also picked up the Waterside Venue of the Year, Website of the Year and Venue Co-Ordinator of the Year awards.
"This is a landmark moment for us as it rewards the hard work and creative input of the General Manager, the hotel Staff and other management, in establishing the facility as a leading wedding venue," commented John Burke, Owner of The Armada Hotel.
”This awards scheme has been enormously important in recognising the successes, dedication and extremely high levels of quality and service given by the Irish wedding industry and therefore, it is hugely significant for us to be given official recognition not only by our industry peers but also by our customers," said Mr. Burke.
Reacting to the news, Marita Morrissey, Wedding Coordinator with Armada Hotel commented: "I am personally honoured to have been named Wedding Coordinator of the Year, which is the result of the unique, tailor-made wedding experience offered by the hotel. This award is particularly special for us considering 2014 saw The Armada Hotel celebrate 30 years as a wedding venue."
"The provision of a modern, award-winning hotel on the site of what was once the biggest hotel in Ireland and Britain during the 1800s has proven to be an attractive proposition to brides and grooms down through the years. More than three decades on from holding the first wedding of Nessa O'Brien and Brendan Sexton in 1984, The Armada is committed to planning wedding packages with one eye on The Armada’s historical soul and the other firmly set on the importance of adapting to ever-changing wedding trends, themes and fashions," said Ms. Morrissey.
The Armada Hotel hosted 94 weddings during 2014 and is on target to host more than 100 weddings during 2015.
