The Sinn Fein party is facing somewhat of a crisis tonight after the second Councillor in an many weeks resigned from the party.New Ross Town Councillor John Dwyer announced today he was resigning from the party. Mr Dwyer is a former General Election candidate who lost his seat on Wexford County Councillor at the recent local elections.
Sinn Féin general secretary Dawn Doyle issued a statement this morning describing the move as disappointing and urging him to "return his seat to the party". Sinn Féin also adopted a similar stance last week when Dublin City Councillor Christy Burke resigned from the party.
