An elderly woman was airlifted to hospital last night after sustaining serious head injuries on Croagh Patrick in County Mayo.The woman, who is in her 70s and from the US state of Colorado, suffered the injuries in a fall while walking on the mountain with her partner, reports breakingnews.ie. Rescuers found her partner uninjured but disorientated and walked him to safety.
The couple are receiving treatment at Mayo General Hospital.
