Lynn's Cork home to be repossessed

The High Court has granted an order for the possession of a property owned by solicitor Michael Lynn.

Bank of Scotland (Ireland) had sought possession of the holiday home in Red Barn, Youghal in County Cork, reports RTE.

The court heard that no repayments had been made on the property since July 2007 and that the total loan amount outstanding stood at over €827,261.

Lough Derg pike population to be surveyed

A new scheme to record Lough Derg's depleted pike population gets underway in Killaloe this Wednesday when a fish tagging operation is introduced by the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board and Ballina / Killaloe Anglers' Association.

In an open competition organised by the association and sponsored by Clare / Tipp Properties, every pike caught will be weighed and tagged before being released back into the lake. Over 20 boats are expected to take part, reports the Limerick Leader.

Fishing takes place between 11am and 5pm.
