The Limerick County Council Motor Taxation Office has announced a temporary amendment to its opening hours to facilitate the efficient processing of postal transactions.
The offices at Lissanalta House in Dooradoyle will now be open from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m, a reduction of one hour on the previous opening time. The time change relates to the period 11th July to 26th August inclusive only.
Jayne Leahy of the Limerick County Council Motor Taxation Office said: “Due to current reduced staffing levels it is necessary to reduce the opening hours of our Motor Taxation department in Dooradoyle by one hour each morning to facilitate the efficient processing of postal transactions. This will ensure we maximise the number of counter staff available to deal with the public.
“During this period longer than normal queues are expected so we encourage members of the public to use alternative payment methods including our online tax service at www.motortax.ie and the Motor Tax Department’s postal service.
“The Motor Tax Department apologises for any inconvenience caused during this transition. We look forward to continuing to provide the most effective efficient and friendly service to the people of County Limerick”, Ms. Leahy added.
The Limerick County Motor Tax Office, which is headquartered at Lissanalta House in Dooradoyle, is responsible for the issue of all vehicle licences and driver licences for County Limerick. The office also deals with change of ownership transactions, off the road notifications, trade plate and trailer applications, exchange of driving licences, and endorsements and disqualifications, while it provides services to the Courts Service of Ireland, An Garda Síochána and Solicitors, as well as State, Semi-State and other regulatory bodies.
