Clare T.D. and Minister Tony Killeen has welcomed the allocation of a €15,310 grant for conservation works to be undertaken at Kilfarboy Church near Miltown Malbay.
The funding has been allocated by the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, under the Civic Structures Conservation Grants Scheme 2010.
Minister Killeen said: “The conservation of our historic buildings makes our towns and villages more attractive to tourists and locals alike and can often act as a catalyst for further heritage projects in an area, as it enhances local awareness in our built heritage.”
“Kilfarboy Church boasts a rich and varied history and I look forward to the continued conservation of this important West Clare site”, he added.
Minister Killeen commended local community-based organisations across County Clare for their “excellent work in preserving their local heritage”.
