North Tipperary County Council has had to close its public playground in Ballina because the facility has been deemed "high risk".The Nenagh Guardian this week reports that the dangerous status of the playground became clear last week after a company specialising in accident prevention undertook an audit of the facility on behalf of the council.
The council's Area Engineer Eoin O'Donoghue told a meeting of county councillors from the Nenagh-Newport Electoral Area on Monday last that the October 6th audit categorised the playground as high risk.
