British Airways announces US customs clearing for Business Class passengers at Shannon AirportBritish Airways has announced that Business Class customers travelling to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport from London City Airport will be able to clear customs and immigration at Shannon Airport, prior to arriving in the US, according to tradingmarkets.com.
Shannon Airport is the first airport in Europe to receive pre-clearance facilities for transatlantic services to the United States. Customers utilising the service will bypass normal arrivals checks when landing at New York's JFK.
A twice-daily Business Class service between London City and New York will be launched by British Airways in autumn 2009. Eastbound flights will be non-stop.
