Talks to head off a strike at Aer Lingus in Shannon next week have resumed at the Labour Relations Commission. There were separate meetings over the weekend between the Commission and both management and unions at the airline, reports businessworld.ie. The dispute is over the carrier's plan to outsource nearly 1,300 jobs in a plan to save 74m euro in costs.
Reports at the weekend said the union side had tabled alternative means of securing the savings, and that Aer Lingus management was examining these proposals.
