A light aircraft is reported to have crashed near the village of Cornamona in Connemara (MARKED ABOVE), Co Galway.The accident is believed to have happened shortly after6pm this evening RTE News reports. Emergency services, including a Coast Guard helicopter, ambulances and fire service personnel are on the way to the scene.
A spokesman for the Coast Guard service said a number of local people had reported seeing the aircraft in difficulty and preparing to make an emergency landing.
