A woman and a young child are being treated in hospital following a two car collision near Connolly village on the main Ennis to Miltown Malbay road.The crash happened shortly before 11.30am yesterday half way between Connolly and The Hand, at Kinturk Cross.
Gardaí from Ennis and Ennistymon along with several units of the local fire brigades and ambulance attended the scene. An infant and a woman in one of the cars were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other car escaped injury.
This is the second road accident in Connolly in as many months. In May, a young driver had a miracalous escape after his Honda vehicle crashed at high speed into the side of a farm building near the village.
