Over a thousand musicians are this week taking part in Ireland's biggest traditional music summer school.
The Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy, held annually since 1973 in memory of the legendary piper from west Clare, began on Saturday in his hometown of Miltown Malbay and is scheduled to run until this Sunday. Organisers say that people from all over the world are attending daily classes, which are given by experts in Irish music and dance. A full programme of lectures, recitals, ceilithe and exhibitions is also taking place.
Organiser Harry Hughes told the Irish Independent that the event was a success because it stayed true to its roots.
