A peace vigil took place in Shannon today to highlight the alleged use of Shannon Airport for US "rendition flights.The vigil comes a day after Amnesty International launched a new report claiming the Irish Government does not know what is passing through the Mid West Airport on secret CIA flights.. The authorities here have denied that Shannon is used as a launch pad for rendition.
Amnesty were today joined by other peace activists in a vigil to the airport where they demanded an end to Ireland alleged participation in the practice.
