Cyclist recovers from hit and run incident

A cyclist was knocked over by a hit-and-run driver during a race in Northern Ireland.

The biker sustained leg injuries when he was struck by a white van on a road outside Omagh last night. He was taking part in an event organised by a local cycling club at the time, according to breakingnews.ie.

Police are now hunting for the van driver, who did not stay at the scene. The incident took place on the Gortin Road near Molly Sweeney’s bar (pictured left) at around 7pm.
