Dreams of a white Christmas were dashed today after Met Eireann forecasters predicted no snow on the 25th.Instead, thousands of Clare people will wake up to a grey, mild day of rain and clouds, without even a sprinkling of frost to add some seasonal cheer. Temperatures will average around 7C (45f) on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
