Galway firm secures 17.3m USD in funding

Cappella, the Galway based medical device company that is developing new treatments for Complex Coronary Artery Disease announced today that it has secured USD17.3m in new funding.

The funds will allow the company to expand its pipeline, supplement ongoing clinical studies and support the European launch its Sideguard Sidebranch stent (a very small, very smart stent), in a market that was worth USD1 billion last year.

Roads funding boost for Carrickfergus

Over £1m will be invested in improving roads in and around Carrickfergus this year, it has been announced.

Roads Minister Conor Murphy said remedial works had been sanctioned following a fire on the embankment at Barnhalt road bridge, according to build.ie.

Drainage works at Dalwaysbawn Road and the A2 Larne Road towards Ballycarry will also be carried out.

Body found in Belfast stream

A man’s body has been discovered in a stream in East Belfast, County Antrim.

A member of the public found the victim in the Dundonald area at around 8.30am. Police are at the scene.
