Planning permission for Ballsbridge development

The "Number One Ballsbridge" project, the redevelopment of the centrally located site of the former UCD Veterinary College in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 has cleared planning.

HKR Architects for the developer, Glenkerrin, said the project will see a mixed-use redevelopment incorporates over 170,000 sqft of office accommodation, 86 luxury apartments and associated retail and restaurant space with buildings on the site ranging in size from seven to eleven storeys in height.

Donegal Gaeltacht works given green light

Almost €188,000 has been committed to pushing forward the second stage of development works at Coiste Forbartha Pháirc Phobail Acla in County Donegal, reports build.ie.

Communities Minister Éamon Ó Cuív said a grant of €156,651 is being sanctioned under the Gaeltacht Improvements Scheme and a grant of €31,330 under the CLÁR Programme, to enable development works to continue at the Baile na Finne facility.

Among the areas to be included as part of the development works will be the dressing rooms and the car park. Funding will also be used for the purchase of a net and professional fees.

Luas works get underway

Work on extending the LUAS line in the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown area got underway.

The county council made an order to temporarily close the junction of Ballyogan Avenue West and Ballyogan Road to facilitate the installation.

The work is part of the proposed extension of the green line from Sandyford to Cherrywood.
