Cathaoirleach congratulates Clare FM on 25th birthday

The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council joined public figures from around Clare today in congratulating the staff and management of Clare FM on the occasion of the radio station's 25th birthday.

Cllr. John Crowe said that over the last quarter of a century, Clare FM has established itself as an "institution for Clare people at home and abroad".

He continued: "Clare FM is part of the social fabric of the County and is a reliable, local media resource that the people of the County are very fortunate to be able to avail of free of charge. Many well known names have passed through the doors of Clare FM as staff members down through the years and today can be seen and heard on national television and radio, as well as read in many of the country's newspapers.

"This wealth of talent continues today with present staff and management of Clare FM continuing to demonstrate the same values that have deservingly earned Clare FM a reputation for exceptional quality and professionalism.

"The healthy listenership figures, the development of new state-of-the-art studios and the numerous national and international radio awards won by Clare FM in recent years illustrate the continued growth and success of the station, which is a tribute to the foresight and investment of management and shareholders.

"Clare County Council is delighted to have been able to support the station during the past 25 years. On behalf of the Local Authority and my colleagues, I want to congratulate Clare FM and wish the management and staff the very best for the future," concluded the Cathaoirleach.
