Clare-Cork clash to be broadcast on Big Screen

Ennis Town Council this evening confirmed it will publicly screen live coverage of Sunday’s All Ireland-Final between Clare and Cork in Abbey Street Car Park.

Supported by the local business community, the Council says the entertainment gets underway at 2.30pm and will continue until 6.00pm. The Clare versus Cork game throws-in at 3.30pm.

According to Ger Dollard, Ennis Town Manager: “Following consultation with Elected Members and the local business community, Ennis Town Council is delighted to be able to announce that the All Ireland Final will be broadcast live on a Big Screen in Ennis Town Centre. It has been 11 years since Clare last contested an All Ireland Final and 16 years since the County last won the Liam McCarthy Cup. As a result there has been huge build-up of excitement in Clare in recent days and weeks and as a result, we are delighted to play our part in adding to what will be a wonderful occasion for Clare people next Sunday.”

“The issue of accessibility to All-Ireland Final tickets has proven to be difficult for many thousands of Clare people. The entertainment that is being provided in Ennis this Sunday will enable people to celebrating All-Ireland Final day with fellow Clare supporters. Ennis Town Council is particularly grateful to the local business community whose support has made this event possible. We also welcome the support of Clare FM who have been confirmed as our media partner for the event,” he added.

Vehicular access to Abbey St. Carpark will be restricted from early Sunday morning. However, people travelling to Ennis town centre to watch the game on the Big Screen can avail of free parking at various other locations throughout the town, including Bindon St. Car Park; Cornmarket Car Park; Friars Walk Car Park; Friary Car Park; Lower Market St. Car Park; Market Place Car Park, Parnell St. Car Park and Woodquay Car Park.
