Local communities, individuals, groups and organisations across County Clare are being invited to attend an information meeting about The Gathering initiative this coming Monday (26 November) at 7.30pm in Kilrush Golf Club, Ennis Road, Kilrush.
The event, which is being hosted by The Gathering Clare Steering Group, will also feature information on funding opportunities for event organisers, as well as details on festivals and events scheduled to take place during 2013.
The Gathering could attract more than 20,000 international visitors to County Clare injecting up 10 million euro into the local economy, according to The Gathering Clare Steering Group. The Group says that it has already received a large number of Gathering event submissions to its Calendar of Events for 2013, which will be used as a promotional and marketing tool for County Clare. The Calendar will be profiled on the Gathering Ireland website, www.thegatheringireland.com, as well as distributed nationally and internationally.
The Gathering Clare Steering Group is jointly led by Clare County Council and Shannon Development, and comprises community and development organisations, as well as business and tourism sector representatives from across Clare.
