Council Responds To Flooding Incidents In Limerick

Limerick County Council said it has responded tonight to a number of incidents as a result of the ongoing severe weather.

Heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours has led to difficult driving conditions and spot flooding at a number of locations across the County, particularly in the West Limerick area.

A Council spokesperson said: “The Council will continue to monitor the situation over the coming hours and into Friday. The continued heavy rainfall and forecast of further rainfall overnight raises the possibility that there may be disruption to water supplies in some areas over the next 24 hours.”

“The Council advises motorists to drive with caution during this period. Pedestrians also are advised to keep clear of flood areas and swollen rivers,” the spokesperson added.

Limerick County Council’s emergency phone number is (061-419226).

The Council said it would issue further updates where necessary.
