Members of the public are being invited to meet and engage with working and student artists this Friday from 2-5pm at the Cliffs of Moher.
The Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark and the Burren College of Art will host ‘The Cliffs of Moher Art Experience’, the latest in a series of events taking place as part of ‘The Burren Rocks’ festival.
Artist Dr. Eamon Doyle, who also is a Geologist with The Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark commented: “This is an opportunity for Artists to showcase their Art and interact with the many visitors at the Cliffs of Moher. We want members of the public to actively participate in the creative process with the artists and gain an insight into how artists think and work and interpret this iconic landscape."
Meanwhile, the Burren Rocks Festival continues this weekend with a unique night-time Irish traditional music concert in Caherconnell Stone Fort on Saturday (16 June) at 9.30 PM. "Cuaird na hOiche” will feature some of County Clare’s best known traditional artists performing traditional music, song and dance in the ancient setting of Caherconnell.
Artists lined up to perform on the evening include concertina player Chris Droney, whose music has been resonating from the landscape of the Burren for more than 80 years, innovative Sean Nós dancer Emma O'Sullivan, and pipers Michael O'Connell, Micky Dunne and Pat Broderick, representing the many rich strands of Piping in Irish Traditional music.
