Limerick County Council Expands Road Salting Programme

Following delivery of additional salt supplies in the last 24 hours, Limerick County Council has today extended the scope of its road salting programme.

The Council has today commenced salting roads identified as Priority Two roads on the Winter Maintenance plan shown on the Limerick County Council website www.lcc.ie.

This includes most regional roads throughout the County. Every effort will be made to have these roads passable for the holiday period.

However, Limerick County Council wishes to remind motorists that even though roads are being salted, they can still be hazardous.

Motorists should continue to exercise extreme caution and have regard to advice from the RSA in relation to driving in winter conditions.
