Ennis and Limerick will be a sea of red and white this December when hundreds of walkers and joggers take to the streets as part of the 2010 Santa Fun Runs.
Organiser Sports Academy International are inviting fun runners, young and old, to walk, jog or run the 5km routes dressed as Santa Claus – suits for which are provided as part of the event entry fee. Part of the proceeds from both events will be donated to Clare Crusaders and children’s charity Barnardos.
Speaking at the launch of the Santa Fun Runs in Limerick today, Sports ai CEO Tomas Madigan commented: “We are delighted to be organising two family-fun events which will help support hard working local charities, as well as give families a healthy day out. It’s all about creating a festive spirit and raising money for two worthy causes, which we are delighted to be partnered with”.
“Both events are open to all ages and abilities and will be thoroughly enjoyable experiences for participants and spectators alike. There will be hot chocolate for every participant at the finish line and a commemorative medal for each and every finishing Santa. It will be a fabulous sight in the lead up to Christmas to see hundreds of Santas running for charity. We would encourage anyone wanting to join in to book now, while places are still available”, Mr. Madigan added.

About The Charities:
The Clare Crusaders was formed in 2005 by Howard Flannery to help Children with Special Needs in areas such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Down Syndrome. We have a clinic in Barefield, County Clare, with 6 therapists providing speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy to 160 children in the Clare region free of charge.
