Mayor Launches Findings Of Customer Survey

The Mayor of Clare has launched the findings of a survey indicating a high satisfaction rate among members of the public with the services provided by Clare County Council.

The local authority’s Corporate Services section carried out the Customer Satisfaction Survey between July and September 2010 as part of an ongoing review of the services it provides.

Launching the survey findings at Aras Contae an Chláir, Mayor of Clare Councillor Christy Curtin said the results of the questionnaire were very encouraging and a useful indicator of how the Council can further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations.

The Mayor added: “The primary purpose of the questionnaire was to enable customers to have the opportunity to say whether or not service standards are being met. This is in line with the Council’s policy of dealing with customers in a fair, open and transparent manner. The results of this survey will be circulated within the organisation, including its management and area office staff. As representatives of the people of Clare, the elected members also will monitor progress regarding implementation of the survey findings.”

“The responses will greatly assist the Council in further improving its delivery of services, tailored to meet the needs of all its customers”, he said.

Over 700 people completed the questionnaire which was posted on the Council website and circulated to each of the Council’s public facilities throughout the county. 56% of those who completed the questionnaire were completed by females. 37% of the respondents were aged between 30 and 49 and 32% were aged between 50 and 65.
