Minister for Defence Mr. Tony Killeen, T.D., has confirmed that capital funding has been approved for three housing projects in Ennis, Shannon and Mountshannon.
Minister Killeen said the capital investment will provide some 8 units of accommodation for persons with specific categories of housing need, including persons exiting temporary homeless accommodation, older people and persons with a physical, intellectual or mental health disability.
He added: "I have been informed by my colleague, Mr. Michael Finneran TD Minister for Housing and Local Services, of his decision to approve funding that will allow for the provision of 3 units of accommodation in Shannon (Respond Housing Association), 3 units of accommodation at Cathedral Court in Ennis (Failte Isteach Housing Association) and 2 units of accommodation in Mountshannon (Inis Housing Association)”.
"I would like to compliment Clare County Council and the respective Housing Associations for working together on these proposed Schemes, which will provide much needed units of accommodation.
“The approved housing bodies play a key role in delivering housing and related supports for people with disabilities, working in partnership with Clare County Council and mainstream services providers like the HSE. These housing associations provide practical and functional support to people with specific categories of housing need to live contentedly and independently in their community”, he concluded.
The Minister for Housing and Local Services, Mr. Michael Finneran TD, today announced a significant capital investment of €60m for a range of housing projects countrywide.
