While County Clare and the rest of Ireland miss out on one of the most intense heatwaves in decades in the UK, Shannon Aiport did manage to record its sunniest June in 50 years.
It was the sunniest June since 1957 according to new figures released by Met Eireann. The figures also show that the mean June temperature was 1.9 degrees above average in Shannon.
June also saw a funnel cloud form over Ennis (see here).
