Two Gardai are recovering from injuries they sustained in a road traffic incident in Shannon yesterday evening.
The pair were injured after their patrol car was struck from behind by another vehicle at a pedestrian crossing in the town.
The crash happened around 6pm at Tullyvarraga in Shannon Town Centre, when the patrol car collided with a Hyundai people carrier. The Irish Independent reports that the female driver of the Hyundai was also slightly injured, and all three were taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.
