The four town councils of Ennis, Shannon, Kilrush and Kilkee held their Annual General Meetings with their new line-ups last evening and elected their respective Mayors.
Independent Councillor Frankie Neylon was elected Chairperson of Ennis Town Council in a unanimous decision last evening with Independent Councillor Michael Guilfoyle beating off competition from Fine Gael's Mary Howard for the position of Deputy Mayor.
Kilrush Town Council saw a Fine Gael duo elected to the top positions at their AGM last evening, with Councillor Marian McMahon Jones becoming Mayor and Councillor Liam Williams her deputy.
Meanwhile, Independent Councillor Lily Marrinan Sullivan became the new Mayor of Kilkee, at the annual general meeting of Kilkee Town Council last night, with Fine Gael's Brian Keane appointed as the deputy Mayor. And in Shannon it was also a case of Fine Gael taking control with Councillor Sean McLoughlin elected the Meara Baile and new Fine Gael Councillor Mary Brennan his leas mheara.
