Murder Suspect Arrested In Shannon

A teenage boy has appeared in court this afternoon charged with the murder of a 40-year-old man in Limerick over two years ago.

The 17-year-old from Limerick city - who cannot be named for legal reasons - was arrested at an apartment complex in Shannon this morning, according to breakingnews.ie. The youth made no reply to the murder charge when he appeared before a special sitting of Limerick Juvenile Court today. He was remanded in custody to St Patrick's Institution (pictured above) to appear before the court again next Tuesday.

Noel Cawley was shot dead at O'Malley Park in Southill in December 2006.
