Pupils at Scoil Ide National School have raised over €7,500 for the Meningitis Research Foundation by recycling old mobile phones.
The students at the County Limerick primary school have collected over 1,400 old handsets, receiving 14 new laptop PCs for their efforts from Click.ie and BPI Telecom. “We are thrilled and amazed at the determination of the pupils at Scoil Ide for this campaign,” commented Maurice Muldoon, managing director, Click.ie. “They are supporting a great charity and will benefit from the new laptops in the process.”
The Click.ie schools campaign is part of a programme organised by BPI Telecom which hopes to raise up to €1 million for the Meningitis Research Foundation by requesting the public to donate old mobile phones.
