Kilfenora Ceili Band performs at Glastonbury

The Kilfenora Céilí Band celebrated its centenary anniversary by headlining the acoustic stage at the world famous Glastonbury music festival at the weekend.

The North Clare-based Irish traditional music group shared a bill with acts including Neil Young, The Specials, Lily Allen, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Blur, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tom Jones, Lady GaGa, The Ting Tings, Doves, Echo and The Bunnymen, Calvin Harris and Spinal Tap. The ten-member band will also be joined by two other Irish acts, Lunasa and Lisa Hannigan.

Speaking following their performance in Somerset, band leader and retired schoolteacher John Lynch said: "It was a great honour to play amongst professional musicians including Bruce Springsteen".
