Extra Garda resources are being called for, in the Cloughleigh Estate in Ennis following the discovery of a hand grenade at a local house over the weekend.
GardaĆ called in the Army Bomb disposal unit to dispose of the viable device, which was thrown into the home of local man Christopher McDonagh while he and his wife, and six children were sleeping upstairs, reports Clare FM Radio.
Neighbouring houses were evacuated and local residents have expressed fear and frustration at the ongoing feud in the area that is thought to be drug related, and has stepped up in recent months.
