Minister of State, Mr. Tony Killeen T.D., has confirmed that grant aid has been approved for capital works at Ennistymon Vocational School.
The Building Unit of the Department of Education and Science this week informed the North Clare T.D., who has made numerous representations on behalf of the school concerned, that grant aid has been sanctioned for the works. Outlining the nature of the proposed works, Minister Killeen said, “Ennistymon Vocational School has received funding for the purpose of undertaking roof improvement works and developing the school lobby and staff toilets. The Building Unit of the Department of Education and Science will be in contact with the school authority shortly in relation to the amount of funding approved. The approval of funding for these works is very positive news for the school concerned as there were fears that the current economic downturn would have led to a subsequent decrease in Government spending in this area. I wish the school authority every success with the planned works”, added Minister Killeen.
So far this year, the Department has allocated funding to Querrin, Doolin Mixed, St. Conaire’s, Tullyvarraga, Inagh, Carron, Carrigaholt, Furglan, Clooney, Ballycar, Cree, Quilty and Ruan National Schools, as well as Ennis Community College.
