Fianna Fáil's Pat 'The Cope' Gallagher has confirmed his intention to contest the upcoming European elections in the North West constituency, which includes County ClareThe Donegal TD and former Minister of State has declared his candidacy just hours before nominations close at noon.
Fianna Fáil has already selected former senator Paschal Mooney to run in the constituency.
