Planning permission has been granted for a 183-bed co-located hospital on grounds leased from Mid-West Regional Hospital in Limerick, private healthcare company Beacon Medical Group (BMG) announced today.The new facility will represent an investment of almost €250m by BMG, the company said in a statement.
When fully operational the new hospital will directly employ 460 full-time staff, with additional indirect employment of approximately 690 people. Approximately 620 construction workers will be recruited to build the new hospital, the company said.
