Cahercalla staff face redundancy

Talks are set to take place today between management and staff at Cahercalla Community Hospital over proposed redundancies at the facility.

The Ennis hospital and hospice has accumulated substantial losses since 2004 which have been described as unsustainable and is now undertaking major cost cutting measures to off set this, according to reports on Clare FM.

The Board of Management says this includes necessary staff redundancies in order to maintain the financial viability of the hospice.
