A County Clare man's gone on trial accused of sexually abusing his partner's daughter over a seven year period.
The 40 year old who can not be named for legal reasons, denies a total of 18 charges against the girl who was eight years old when the alleged abuse began.
According to Clare FM News, opening the case at the Central Criminal Court prosecuting council told the jury that it was the state's case there was a pattern of sexual abuse and serial rapes by the accused on his partner’s daughter from December 1998 to May 2005.
