Russell Gallery Hosts Exhibition Of Local Landscape And Seascape Artworks

The Mayor of Clare has officially opened an exhibition of paintings by Joe Jordan and Doreen Drennan at the Russell Gallery in New Quay.

‘North Clare - the Burren Way’ will remain open to the public until 31st December. According to Mayor Madeleine Taylor Quinn: “Both artists are based in County Clare and have been inspired by their local landscapes and seascapes. I would like to congratulate them and the Russell Gallery for presenting such impressive works to members of the public in North Clare and surrounding areas.”

Doreen Drennan is a landscape/seascape artist living in Lisdoonvarna. Her work has been selected for many private and corporate collections around the World and can be found in some of the top galleries in Ireland. Joe Jordan lives in Ennis. The watercolour artist does all his own framing and paints on location whenever possible.

Speaking during the exhibition launch on Saturday night, Mayor Taylor Quinn noted how lucky Clare artists were to have a vibrant and changing environment around them to paint and how this must influence and inspire them in their creative work.
