A woman was raped repeatedly and threatened with being murdered after sharing a taxi with a man in Derry, it was claimed in the High Court yesterday, reports the Derry Journal newspaper.
Prosecutors alleged she was forced upstairs and pushed half way out a bedroom window during the alleged sex attack. It was also claimed that the woman only managed to escape when the accused went to the bathroom.
The 32-year-old accused, from Ennis faces charges of rape, attempted murder and threats to kill. He denies the offences, with his lawyer telling the court that bruising inflicted on the alleged victim resulted from "vigorous consensual intercourse".
