Fair play award for Griffin

Clare hurler Tony Griffin has been honoured with the Halifax/Gaelic Players Association (GPA) Fair Play award for 2008.

The Ballyea native has raised almost €1 million for cancer research, first by cycling across Canada, and more recently from Canada to Texas.

Fermanagh footballer Martin McGrath who has come through a recent cancer scare, having previously endured two heart operations, also picked up an award.
