German discount retailer Aldi is to open a new store in Kilrush as part of a €350m expansion blitz in Ireland -- increasing the number of stores here to 160 with the creation of 650 jobs.The company has unveiled plans to open 35 outlets in Ireland over the next three years, with 17 of those due to open by the end of 2009.
Over a dozen jobs are expecetd to be created in West Clare as a result of the new store.
