The first agreement of its kind between the two companies, Air Mediterranee will deliver its aircraft to the Shannon hangar on Oct. 29, when the maintenance project is scheduled to begin. The aircraft will also undergo a full strip and paint.
SAL’s long-standing reputation in the marketplace as a provider of high-quality, predictable maintenance checks to some of the world’s foremost airline operators was a key element of the successful pitch, according to Aircraft Maintenance Technology Magazine. In addition to this however, it was SAL’s proven experience in co-ordinating a complex Rib 5 replacement which secured the project for the Shannon-based MRO.
Representatives from Air Mediterranee visited Shannon earlier this month in order to discuss the finer details of the project with members of the Shannon Aerospace team and to sign the final contract.
