North Tipperary County Council intends to close the bridge at Portumna for a 10-day period at then end of next month to carry out necessary repair work on the structure, the Nenagh Guardian reports.The council has given notice that it proposes to close the swing bridge on the N65 at Portumna for a length of 400 metres from 10pm on Friday October 24 to midnight on Monday November 3 next. The purpose of the closure is to facilitate works associated with Portumna’s swing bridge replacement.
The period of closure will coincide with the school midterm break holidays.
