A €350 million plan to develop a new commercial centre at Cusack Park in Ennis has been given the go-ahead in spite of a major campaign of opposition to the project. 955 individual submissions were received by the town council calling for the GAA grounds to be retained as a community facility, reports the Clare People newspaper. However the submissions were identically worded and when the signatories were made aware of the contents, many requested the council to withdraw them. Dell have been advised to upgrade jobs in Limerick if they want more money from the IDA. Former Industry Minister Michael Noonan told the Limerick Leader that the computer giant, which has already received €76m in state grants, should develop its flagship Limerick base if it wants more cash from the IDA.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Dublin Hospital that treated Ennis Misdiagnosis victim Ann Moriarty has apologised for giving out another patient's blood test results to her family. Clare FM news reports that St James' Hospital in Dublin released Ms Moriarty's medical records to her husband Karl Henry under the freedom of information act which included another named patient's test results.Ms Moriarty had been treated at the hospital for breast cancer in 2005 and again in 2007. She passed away in April.
