There were mixed fortunes for two Clare managers last night.The Galway Hurling Board have sacked Ger Loughnane (left) as Galway senior hurling manager. Board delegates voted by 28 to 26 against his ratification. Loughnane, who had been manager for two years, was not present at the vote in the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry last night.
Elsewhere, Davy Fitzgerald has been appointed for another two-year term as manager of the Waterford hurlers reports breakingnews.ie. The Clareman led the side to the All-Ireland final this year. He took over the helm from Justin McCarthy during the championship.
