Lions Club Hopes “Banner Jigs ‘N’ Reels” Will Be A Roaring Success

Well-known faces from across County Clare are dusting off their dance shoes in order to strut their stuff in a major charity fundraiser at Glór Irish Music Centre in Ennis.

An intercounty hurler, model, priest, professional golfer, nurse, teacher, bank manager and hotelier are among the contestants taking part in next week's inaugural “Banner Jigs ‘n’ Reels” event. Organisers the Lions Club of Ennis anticipate that the two-night spectacular will raise thousands of Euro for charities at home and abroad.

Brian Shanley, President of the Lions Club of Ennis said, “The Lions Club is delighted to be staging two nights of family entertainment in aid of ten worthy charities. We hope the people of Clare will get right behind the dance contestants and their chosen charities." According to coordinator Kieran Sammon, “Those in attendance can expect a great night of dancing and craic. It is great to see so many local people getting involved and everyone is now looking forward to seeing the various dance routines on display. The audience will decide the winner on the night.”
