Flooding fears for Clarecastle residents

The Office of Public Works is being urged to set money aside for flood protection measures in Clarecastle.

Local residents fear the ongoing works to strenthen the river banks in Ennis will have a knock on effect on lower sections of the Fergus which could lead to problems in other parts of the town.

Clarecastle Councillor Bernard Hanrahan told Clare FM News he understands there are bugetary constraints given the economic downturn but is hopefully of getting the funds.
